Saving tips

Try the following tips to save money on clothing.

Think first!
Make sure that you take back any clothes that don't fit straight away. Don't just leave them hanging in your wardrobe thinking that you will take them back soon. The chances are that you probably won't get around to it and so they will end up being a total waste of money.

If you get the urge for some retail therapy, try to wait until the sales are on. However, don't just buy for the sake of buying or because you think an item is a bargain price. Remember, a bargain is only a bargain if you need it or really wear it!

For many people constantly buying new clothes is a difficult cycle to break. If you are one of these people then go through your wardrobe thouroughly and start using what is there - you may find many things you had long forgotton about!

If you do decide to go for a fashion item, get it as cheap as possible because it will quickly go out of style - there is no point in spending a great deal of money on it.

When buying new clothes and shoes makes sure that you have items to match as if not it means further cost buying matching items.

Baby and children clothing
Newborn babies don't need lots of 'newborn' sized clothing - many only fit for a couple of weeks!

Cloth nappies are still the best choice for economy. The better for the environment too considering the waste problem and health hazards when dumped.

Children grow out of clothes quickly. A great deal of money is wasted on designer clothes that children grow out of before they have even seen much wear. Try supermarket or clothes from cheaper high street stores as they can have some really nice ranges.

Factory outlet and clearance shops

Try factory outlet or clearance shops. You can often pick up some great bargains and, remember - no-one other than you will know where you bought your outfit or how much you paid!

Second hand
Forget being snobby about second hand shops - it is well worth looking around the ones in your area. You will soon find out where the best are and can sometimes pick up new or nearly new items for a fraction of the normal price.

Go to your local charity shop or dress agency to bag some quirky bargains. Don't forget Kylie's famous hot pants were a charity shop purchase!
