Saving tips

The cost of buying new books and magazines can really mount up. Here are some ideas for saving money on books, so you can enjoy reading while helping your pockets!

 read it swap it

Bought a book and finished it? Don't know what to do with it? If you've read it swap it! www.readitswapit.co.uk Alternatively, if you have a collection of books go through them and consider which you really want to keep and read again - if there are some you could do without try selling them and make a few pounds.

 Green Metropolis

Second hand book shops are wonderful too - even cheaper are the book sections of charity shops. Green Metropolis is a great site for second-hand books - they also make a donation to the Woodland Trust for each book sold. Amazon is also a great place to pick up second hand bargains.

paper

If you read a newspaper
then remember that you could probably read it online for free - most of the larger UK papers are available on the internet. To find your chosen one just go to Google and search for the title.

library

Make full use of your local library - you pay for libraries through your taxes so why not use them? You can have as many free books as you like. You can also order any title that you particularly want. Remember, there are not only books but also magazines, DVDs and CDs now too.
